I'm a teacher of English and history with an experience of 17 years,have taught grades 6-10, and firmly believe that interest and understanding score over rote learning any day!

Since this is the online mode, I believe I would incorporate a lot of interaction through questioning,backed by explanation and examples from the real world. The class structure would include school students 5-10 students per batch (grades 5-10) who would be learning at their own pace.
